AIFT Background

The American India Foundation Trust (AIFT) is a public charitable trust in India. It focuses on social and economic change in India, building relationships between the United States and India through programs in education, livelihoods, public health, and leadership development.

Project Objectives

  • Develop/enhance clinical competencies of nurse mentors.
  • Provide simulation and skill-based training for hands-on maternal and newborn care.
  • Implement effective mentoring methodologies for continuous quality improvement.
  • Train and build capacity of nurse mentors on quality standards (LaQshya, WHO safe birth, Dakshta, Manyata, Kayakalp, safe delivery app, and respectful maternity care).
  • Monitor and evaluate the training program.
  • Procure Maternal and Newborn Simulation Devices.

Scope of Work

  • Develop a comprehensive training curriculum aligned with objectives.
  • Conduct training sessions using interactive and competency-based approaches.
  • Customize training to address specific needs of nurse mentors within our healthcare facility.
  • Include evidence-based practices in maternal and newborn care.
  • Assess healthcare facilities to identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide recommendations based on findings for enhancing quality of care.
  • Promote Respectful Maternity Care: Training, sensitization, and best practices
  • Implement feedback mechanisms for continuous quality improvement
  • Provide simulation training materials.
  • Integrate quality improvement methodologies into the training
  • Procure Maternal and Newborn Simulation Devices.
