Activities during the Innovation Walk:

  • Duration: 5 days
  • Participants: Top 20 teams (10 teams from school track and 10 teams from youth track)
  • Location: Various Samsung offices
  • Content: Daily trainings from experts on directing ideas and finding problem-solution fit, extensive training on design thinking and prototyping, interactions with Samsung leaders

Phases of the Program:

  1. Phase 1:

    • Selection: Top 100 teams (50 teams from school track and 50 teams from youth track) chosen based on applications received from all over India
    • Shortlist: Region-based shortlist comprising 10 teams of each region in each track
  2. Phase 2:

    • Activities: Online regional pitch events/rounds
    • Selection: Two teams from each region in each track selected by a jury during the online pitch events/rounds, resulting in 10 teams from each track for Phase 3
  3. Phase 3:

    • Participants: Top 20 teams (10 teams from school track and 10 teams from youth track)
    • Content: Online advanced training, mentoring for proof-of-concept development, business plan, soft skills training
    • Innovation Walk: 5-day visit to Samsung R&Ds, culminating in a National Pitch Event at IIT Delhi
    • Selection: Top 10 Finalist teams (5 teams from each track) chosen based on jury scoring
  4. Phase 4:

    • Participants: Top 10 teams (5 teams from school track and 5 teams from youth track)
    • Content: Online prototyping class to refine ideas for grand finale event
    • Finale: Teams pitch their ideas one last time in front of grand jury
    • Winners: 1 winning team from school track and 1 winning team from youth track

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Participants: Indian nationals residing in India
  • Age: 14–17 years for school track, 18–22 years for youth track as of May 31, 2024
  • Team Size: Up to five people
  • Originality: Concepts should be original in science, technology, or as a wholly new product with social or economic consequence
  • Funding Restrictions: Teams/individuals should not have previously obtained funds/awards exceeding INR Five Lakh for the identical proposal from any agency or competition
  • Support: Samsung provides accommodation and travel expenses, including accommodation for a parent/guardian for participants below 18
