BharatCares, the social impact initiative of CSRBOX Group, is seeking partnerships with NGOs and civil society organisations to conduct short-term upskilling programmes for construction workers in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
India’s construction workforce, largely informal, includes millions of workers engaged in activities such as road construction, maintenance, earthwork, and infrastructure development. Despite their hands-on experience, many lack formal certification, updated technical skills, and awareness of safety standards, which limits their earning potential and professional growth.
With Varanasi undergoing rapid infrastructure expansion, there is a growing demand for skilled workers equipped with modern techniques and safety practices. This initiative aims to bridge that gap through structured 7-day training programmes designed to enhance skills without disrupting livelihoods.
Who Can Apply
- NGOs or civil society organisations working in construction worker skilling
- Minimum 3 years of experience in vocational training or skill development
- Proven experience in training already skilled construction workers
- Presence or active operations in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh
Information Required from Applicants
Interested organisations should be ready to provide:
- Organisational details (registration, mission, experience)
- Experience in construction skilling (trades, number of workers trained, certifications)
- Training infrastructure and trainer profiles
- Community engagement and mobilisation experience in Varanasi
Selection Process

- Internal review and shortlisting
- Further discussions, field assessments, and capacity evaluation for selected organisations
