BIRAC Product Commercialization Program (PCP) Fund 2026: Grants for Late-Stage Biotech Startups
Apply for the BIRAC Product Commercialization Program (PCP) Fund. Financial support for Indian biotech startups to accelerate market launch, pilot validation, and commercialization of TRL 7+ products. Deadline: Dec 31, 2026.
The Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) has announced a call for applications under its Product Commercialization Program (PCP) Fund. This initiative provides dedicated financial backing to Indian biotech startups looking to bridge the gap between late-stage technology validation and full-scale market entry.
About BIRAC Established by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, BIRAC is a Section 8, Schedule B Public Sector Enterprise. It serves as an industry-academia interface dedicated to strengthening the national biotechnology innovation ecosystem. BIRAC offers risk capital, IP management, technology transfer, and mentorship to nurture globally competitive Indian biotech enterprises.
Purpose of the PCP Fund While existing schemes (such as BIG, BIPP, SBIRI, PACE, and SPARSH) support early-stage development up to validation, late-stage products often face funding barriers when transitioning into the market. The PCP Fund targets technologies that have reached Technology Readiness Level 7 (TRL 7) or above to assist with:
-
