About the Grant

The Vision Grants program aims to foster planning for large-scale, interdisciplinary research projects that:

• Promote equity and transform educational systems.
• Encourage collaboration with practitioners, policymakers, and communities.

Grant Features:

• Duration: 6–12 months for research planning.
• Amount: $75,000.
• Purpose: To develop a visionary, collaborative, and interdisciplinary research plan.

Key Focus Areas:

• Identify systems in need of transformation and key levers for change.
• Emphasize collaboration and meaningful partnerships.
• Explore diverse methodologies and interdisciplinary approaches.

Being awarded a Vision Grant is also a prerequisite for applying to the Transformative Research Grant ($3.5 million) for large-scale implementation projects.

Eligibility

• Target Projects: Must focus on education and/or learning, with potential interdisciplinary collaborations.
• Principal Investigators (PIs): Must hold a relevant terminal degree (e.g., doctorate) and have appropriate experience.
• Affiliation: PI must be affiliated with a non-profit or public/governmental institution.
• International Applicants: Proposals are accepted from the U.S. and abroad but must be submitted in English with budgets in USD.
• Restrictions: Graduate students may be part of the team but cannot serve as PI or Co-PI.

Proposal Requirements

• Methodological approach and potential impact.
