About Britannia Nutrition Foundation (BNF)
The Britannia Nutrition Foundation (BNF) is the CSR arm of Britannia Industries Limited, dedicated to tackling malnutrition and anemia in vulnerable communities across India. The Foundation collaborates with NGOs, government agencies, and community stakeholders to implement sustainable and impactful programs targeting at-risk populations such as children, adolescents, and pregnant/lactating women.
Program Objectives
- Reduction of Wasting:
- Address acute malnutrition through nutrient-rich supplements, improved dietary practices, and community health initiatives.
- Reduction of Low Birth Weight:
- Improve maternal nutrition and antenatal care to ensure healthier pregnancies.
- Strengthening Service Delivery:
- Equip facilities, streamline processes, and enhance accessibility and quality of nutrition-related services.
- Capacity Building:
- Train frontline workers and community volunteers to improve service delivery and promote nutritional awareness.
- Improvement in Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices (KAP):
- Raise community awareness to encourage long-term positive behavior changes in diet and hygiene.
Program Locations & Beneficiary Coverage
- Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh: 50,000 beneficiaries, including children (0–5 years), pregnant women, and school children.
- Khordha, Odisha: 14,000 beneficiaries, focusing on similar target groups.
Scope of Work
- Approval Procurement: Secure necessary permissions from government departments.
- Beneficiary Registration and Screening: Register 50,000 beneficiaries in Shivpuri and 14,000 in Khordha; monitor growth and BMI.
- Monthly Monitoring: Regularly assess SAM/MAM children and other beneficiaries.
- Nutrition Supplement Distribution: Provide supplements and distribute kits to eligible groups such as SAM/MAM children, anemic pregnant women, and low-BMI lactating women.
- Data Reporting: Share monthly reports and program data with BNF.
- Stock and Distribution Management: Distribute iron-fortified biscuits to schools and Anganwadi Centers (AWCs).
- Volunteer Recruitment and Training: Identify and train women and student volunteers.
- Infrastructure Support: Provide infrastructure and logistical support to schools and AWCs.
- Stakeholder Training: Organize training sessions for workers, volunteers, and beneficiaries.
- Financial Submissions: Submit fund utilization reports and annual audited financial statements.
Eligibility Criteria
- Proven experience in Health & Nutrition projects.
- Local presence in the respective state/district.
- All documents listed in Annexure 2 must be submitted.
Proposal Requirements
- Brief Introduction of the NGO: Maximum 1000 words.
- List of Past Programs: Refer to Annexure 3 for the format.
- Implementation Plan: Detailed description of the program approach.
- Budget Details: Submit in the format provided in Annexure 1.
- Required Documents: Include all documents listed in Annexure 2.
- Timeline & Gantt Chart: Provide a detailed schedule of activities.

- Human Resource Costs: Staff salaries and travel allowances.
- Training Costs: Costs for volunteer and stakeholder training.
- Nutrition Supplements: Kits and supplements (duration: 5 months for SAM/MAM children, 3 months for pregnant/lactating women).
- Infrastructure Support: Equipment and facility upgrades (5–10% of total budget).
- Logistics & Admin Costs: Transportation, materials, office setup (max 5% of total budget).
