Purpose of Hiring an Agency/Consultant

To develop and contextualize the Parents Meeting Curriculum for Room to Read India’s Girls Education Program (GEP), focusing on three thematic domains: Boys Life Skills, Climate Justice, and Financial Literacy Curriculum.

Room to Read is a global organization working towards literacy and gender equality in education. Founded in 2000, the organization has impacted 16.8 million children across 38,000 communities in Asia and Africa.


Program Overview

The Girls’ Education Program aims to:

  • Empower adolescent girls through life skills training, mentoring, and engagement with families, schools, and communities.
  • Challenge harmful gender norms and build gender-responsive practices.
  • Support girls in making informed life decisions and strengthening their agency to achieve personal goals.
    In India, GEP has supported 367,584 girls across 8 states since 2004.

Assignment Objectives

To develop and contextualize 18 parents meeting sessions for grades 6–8 focusing on:

  1. Boys Life Skills Curriculum
  2. Climate Justice Curriculum
  3. Financial Literacy Curriculum

Scope of Work

1. Understanding Curriculum and Content Universe

  • Familiarize with the Life Skills Framework and content universe of the three domains.
  • Map existing life skills sessions to develop a logical flow for the parents’ curriculum.

2. Content Development

  • Develop 14 new sessions for parents meeting curriculum across the three thematic domains.
  • Contextualize 4 existing sessions to align with the local Indian context.
  • Collaborate with Room to Read to finalize session templates.

3. Orientation and Facilitation

  • Conduct 3 half-day virtual orientation sessions for internal team members.
  • Provide in-person orientation if required (travel and logistics covered by Room to Read).

Key Deliverables

  1. Finalized Word Documents of:
    • 14 new sessions for parents meeting curriculum.
    • 4 contextualized sessions of parents meeting curriculum.
  2. Online Orientation Sessions:
    • 3 half-day sessions for internal team members.
  3. Language: All sessions to be developed in Hindi.

Selection Process

The selection process will consist of three rounds:

  1. Submission of Proposal: Shortlisting based on proposal.
  2. Interview Process: Evaluation of shortlisted applicants.
  3. Assignment Submission: Task evaluation to match the requirements.

Technical Evaluation Criteria

Each parameter will contribute 10 points, totaling 50 points.

  1. Demonstrated Experience: Past work in curriculum and content development for parents or similar stakeholders.
  2. Domain Knowledge: Awareness of the thematic domains and issues related to Girls' Education.
  3. Expertise in Life Skills Domain: Proven credentials in life skills education.
  4. Gender-Transformative Content: Ability to create content that promotes gender equality.
  5. Hindi Content Development: Experience in developing content in Hindi.

Payment Terms

  1. Payments will be made after submission of correct invoices.
  2. Payment will follow the completion of milestones as approved by Room to Read.
  3. A penalty will be imposed for grammatical or language errors.

Payment Milestones:

  • Delivery of the first 6 sessions.
  • Delivery of the next 6 sessions.
  • Delivery of the final 6 sessions.
  • Completion of orientation sessions.
