About the Initiative: The European Union and the world’s largest youth organizations, the “Big Six,” have partnered to bring exciting opportunities to young people through the EU Youth Empowerment Fund. Launched in October 2023, the 10 million euro initiative provides youth-friendly funding for projects contributing to sustainable development in local communities.

Panel Positions:

Youth Panel Position:

• Role:
  • Review Youth-Led Solutions applications.
  • Discuss, debate, and recommend successful applications.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Youth-led Solutions funding process and broader strategy.
  • Sign a Code of Conduct.
• Primary Tasks:
  • Attend virtual briefing meetings.
  • Review applications within an agreed timeframe using the online platform.
  • Attend virtual Panel meetings approximately every three months.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Project Coordination Team.
  • Be an advocate for the project.
• Eligibility Criteria:
  • Aged between 14 and 30 years old from an eligible country.
  • Ability to review applications and join virtual panel meetings.
  • Access to good, stable internet.
  • Broad understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Previous experience in volunteering or community work.
  • Working knowledge of English; fluency in other languages is an advantage.
  • Encouraged to apply: young people from vulnerable or socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds, youth facing gender equality challenges, or young people with a disability.

Senior Youth Panellist Position:

• Role:
  • Support youth panellists in reviewing applications.
  • Facilitate and lead Youth Panel Meetings.
  • Provide meeting outcomes and feedback to the Project Coordination Team.
  • Coordinate contributions to the ongoing development of the funding process and broader strategy.
  • Sign a Code of Conduct.
• Primary Tasks:
  • Facilitate initial and periodic briefing meetings.
  • Support the review of allocated applications.
  • Facilitate virtual Panel meetings every three months.
  • Ensure inclusivity in panel meetings.
  • Conduct panel preparation and post-meeting follow-up.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Project Coordination Team.
  • Be an advocate for the project.
• Eligibility Criteria:
  • Aged between 18 and 30 years old from an eligible country.
  • Experience in a leadership or decision-making role.
  • Experience facilitating meetings in a virtual environment.
  • Access to good, stable internet.
  • Broad understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Previous experience in volunteering or community work.
  • Working knowledge of English; fluency in other languages is an advantage.
