About the Grant

WCT-Biodiversity, Ecosystems and Endangered Species Grants Programme (WCT-BEES Grants):

• Supports critical conservation research and grassroots projects by awarding small grants to researchers, conservationists, and conservation organizations in India.
• Was originally called the WCT-Small Grants Programme, launched in March 2017.
• Discontinued during the COVID-19 pandemic and relaunched with a broader vision and refined objectives in 2023.

Two Types of Grants

Wildlife Research Small Grant:

• Provides funding support to wildlife researchers.
• Focuses on projects involving endangered species or areas of exceptional biodiversity in India.
• Preference for projects with a strong conservation component.

Grassroots Conservation Small Grant:

• Provides funding support to conservationists and conservation organizations.
• Focuses on projects involving endangered species or areas of exceptional biodiversity in India.

Both grants:

• Are open to Indian wildlife researchers, grassroots conservationists, and conservation organizations.
• Have no geographic restrictions within India and are open to Indian citizens and organizations with valid registration certificates.
