Tap Water - Safe Water Awareness Challenge

About: Jal Jeevan Mission is envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections to all households in rural India. The Har Ghar Jal initiative, under the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, in collaboration with MyGov, invites creative minds across India to participate in a special movement. This challenge aims to debunk myths surrounding tap water and chlorinated water, focusing on creating mass awareness among the rural population.

Myths to Address:

  1. Myth 1: Tap water is not safe to drink.
  2. Myth 2: Tap water is not rich in minerals.
  3. Myth 3: Tap water tastes bad because of its poor sanitary quality or chlorination used.
  4. Myth 4: Tap water has a high amount of TDS.
  5. Myth 5: Tap water is stored water and is not fresh.

Challenge: As a participant, your task is to design a Multi-Mode Communication Campaign on water quality themes such as "Drinking from the Tap" and "Chlorinated Water is Safe." The campaign should include a title, subtitle, theme, outreach plan, mediums used, and the type of messages or creative strategies that will be developed.

Evaluation Criteria:

  1. Originality: The message and idea should have a powerful impact and not be plagiarized.
  2. Reach: The campaign should appeal to a diverse audience.
  3. Technical Feasibility: Campaign features, scalability, interoperability, and enhancement.
  4. Roadmap: Communication strategy and periodical timelines to reach different audiences.
  5. Team Ability & Culture: Team leader’s effectiveness (ability to guide, present ideas), team members’ qualifications, and growth potential of the organization.
  6. Financial Plan: The potential cost to execute the campaign plan.
  7. Unique Selling Point (USP): List of unique features that the campaign plan will demonstrate.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Single Entry: Only one entry per participant/user ID will be considered valid.
  • No Entry Fee: There is no entry fee to participate in the competition.
  • First-Time Participants: If participating for the first time, the participant must fill in the required details on MyGov.
  • Accurate Information: Participants must ensure that their profile information (name, address, email address, phone number) is accurate and updated. Incomplete or inaccurate information will lead to disqualification.
  • Original Work: Participants must undertake that the submitted work is original and their own.
  • Content Guidelines: The content should not contain any provocative, inappropriate, or objectionable material.
  • Team Restrictions: A team member/team leader cannot be part of another team or participate individually.
  • Intellectual Property: Entries will become the intellectual property of the National Jal Jeevan Mission, Ministry of Jal Shakti, and cannot be claimed by participants.
  • Submission: All entries must be submitted on MyGov. Entries through other means will not be considered.
  • Disqualification Rights: The organizers reserve the right to disqualify participants with incomplete, plagiarized, or false entries.
  • Copyright Compliance: Content must be original and comply with the Indian Copyright Act, 1957. Violators will be disqualified.
  • Amendments: The Ministry of Jal Shakti reserves the right to cancel or amend any part of the contest or its Terms & Conditions. Updates will be posted on MyGov.
  • Jurisdiction: All disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of Delhi only, with expenses borne by the participants.
