Climatelinks serves as a platform for knowledge sharing, aimed at refining practices and informing USAID’s technical direction in areas where information gaps exist. This initiative is implemented through the Advancing Capacity for the Environment (ACE) project.

About the Grant

The USAID Climate Finance for Development Accelerator (CFDA), referred to as “the Accelerator,” is a significant $250 million initiative with the goal of mobilizing $2.5 billion in public and private climate investments by 2030. These investments are intended to fund climate change mitigation and low-carbon adaptation projects, with a focus on scaling up the transition to an equitable and resilient net-zero economy.

Objectives of the Accelerator:

  1. Develop and scale effective partnerships and new investment solutions to achieve transformational change in countries where USAID operates.
  2. Improve the enabling environment and broaden participation in climate finance, including expanding the diversity of stakeholders driving climate solutions.
  3. Expand local and global capacity to attract more resources into climate finance.

Key Features:

  • Partnership Portal: Establishes an entry point for private sector entities, foundations, and other partners interested in supporting climate investments aligned with USAID objectives and the Paris Agreement.
  • Climate Finance Investment Network (CFIN): Engages partners to strengthen the climate finance ecosystem and facilitate private sector financing through learning, partnership facilitation, and catalytic grants.
  • Local Solutions: Helps USAID missions and local partners design evidence-based solutions that address gaps in local climate finance ecosystems.
  • Empowerment: Supports local actors, marginalized communities, and underrepresented groups to access climate finance and lead efforts to meet climate goals through co-creation, partnership matchmaking, and support for direct USAID subcontracts and grants.

How to Apply

To participate in the Climate Finance Investment Network (CFIN) or become eligible to receive support from the Accelerator, interested parties must complete the partnership intake form available on Climatelinks.

This initiative provides a valuable opportunity for organizations and partners interested in climate finance to contribute to global climate goals while benefiting from USAID's support and resources.
