About the Organization

  • India Foundation for the Arts (IFA) is an independent, nationwide non-profit organization.
  • Established in 1993, IFA has supported and implemented over 800 projects and disbursed over Rs 36.51 crore (USD 4.44 million) across India.
  • The outcomes of these projects include books, films, performances, exhibitions, games, websites, and archival materials, promoting wider access and participation in the arts.

About the Proposal

  • IFA seeks proposals for arts-integrated projects in Government-aided and Non-profit schools located in non-metropolitan areas across India.
  • The Arts Education programme called Kali-Kalisu (meaning "learn" and "teach" in Kannada) aims to create engaging and joyful learning experiences using different art forms for curriculum-based teaching.

Objectives of the Projects

  1. Connect local art forms and cultural practices with classroom teaching.
  2. Integrate arts processes into the teaching of all subjects.
  3. Include students' lived experiences in classroom learning.
  4. Collaborate with local artists and community resources.

Duration

  • Minimum: 1 year
  • Maximum: 1 year and 6 months

Budget

  • Up to a maximum of Rs 4,00,000/- (Rupees Four lakh).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a Government-aided or Non-profit school in a non-metropolitan area.
  • The school should work with local languages and integrate arts and culture into its teaching methods.
  • The institution must be registered under The Societies Registration Act 1860 or The Indian Trust Act 1882.
  • It must have been in existence for at least three years.
  • It should have audited statements of accounts for at least two years.
  • The institution must have a valid Permanent Account Number (PAN).

How to Apply

  • Proposals can be submitted in any Indian language, including English.
  • Schools can discuss project ideas before submitting final proposals by contacting Krishna at [email protected] or calling 8762954080 (between 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM) before August 31, 2024.
  • Submit the final proposal with supporting materials in a single email (not exceeding 25 MB) to [email protected] before Saturday, September 28, 2024.
