Scope of the Grant
The Hepatitis Fund is seeking proposals for transformative initiatives aimed at eliminating hepatitis in low- and middle-income countries in Asia and Africa. The projects should focus on both hepatitis B and C, and align with national programs and governmental collaboration. Emphasis is on community engagement, human rights, gender equity, and innovative approaches.
Tracks and Challenges
Track 1: Data and Technology for Planning and Financing
- Utilize data and technology to inform and influence hepatitis elimination plans.
- Collaborate with Ministries of Health and Finance to strategize financing approaches.
- Activities may include:
- Costing elimination plans
- Developing investment cases
- Exploring innovative financing mechanisms
- Building data collection and surveillance systems
Track 2: Program Development for Service Delivery
- Focus on reducing mother-to-child transmission of HBV and improving testing and treatment access.
- Activities may include:
- Promoting facility-based deliveries
- Expanding HBV birth-dose vaccination
- Integrating hepatitis care into existing health programs
- Using e-health tools for patient education and service delivery
Both tracks encourage e-health initiatives and emphasize community engagement and advocacy.
Funding Information
- Track 1: Up to $250,000 for 18 months
- Track 2:
- Multi-country/regional projects: Up to $1,000,000 per year for 36 months
- Single country projects: Up to $500,000 per year for 36 months
Eligibility Criteria
- Must target hepatitis elimination and align with THF programmatic directions.
- The project must be innovative, sustainable, and scalable.
- Should focus on low- and middle-income countries in Africa or Asia.
- Organizations must demonstrate capacity, community engagement, and financial stability.
Ineligibility
Funding is not available for basic research, government entities, individual grants, sponsorships, debt repayment, lobbying activities, or entities under legal or financial distress.
