About the Organization

Right Sharing of World Resources (RSWR) is an independent Quaker not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting equity and addressing poverty through partnerships worldwide. Supported primarily by the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) in the United States, RSWR has two main goals:

1. Providing grants for women in developing countries to initiate small income-generating businesses, enabling them to support themselves and their families.
2. Raising awareness among Quakers in the United States about the negative impacts of poverty in the developing world and materialism in North America.

About the Grant

RSWR offers grants to groups of marginalized women in Guatemala, Kenya, Sierra Leone, and India for individual micro-enterprise projects. The organization's work emphasizes stewardship of material, human, and spiritual resources.

• Target Audience: Poor women who are members of a self-help group.
• Project Requirements: Must include a revolving loan component to extend the impact of the grant, as funds can be revolved to support multiple beneficiaries within the community.
• Objective: To assist beneficiaries in gaining self-sufficiency and to provide alternatives to poverty through employment opportunities.

Eligibility

• Target Organizations: Newer, smaller NGOs with annual budgets of less than $16,500 and established for less than 20 years.
• Geographic Focus: In India, RSWR focuses on the regions of Tamil Nadu and the districts of Chittoor, Tirupati, and Annamaya in Andhra Pradesh.
