Job Description

  • Leadership: Providing overall leadership to the FPO program.
  • Strategy Building: Guiding and implementing strategies to make FPOs vibrant institutions.
  • Capacity Building: Developing the skills of field teams to support FPOs.
  • Market Linkages: Leading the bulk marketing of major commodities.
  • Financial Linkages: Establishing financial connections for FPOs.
  • Project Management: Managing projects, including liaising with donors.
  • Resource Mobilization: Mobilizing resources for the FPO program.
  • Team Management: Leading the team.
  • Digitization: Leading the digitization of FPO operations.
  • MIS Systems Development: Developing systems to monitor daily FPO business progress.
  • Relationship Building: Building relationships with government departments, think tanks, donors, and market players.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Qualifications: B.Sc. Agriculture, MBA in Rural Management/Development, Agribusiness, or an allied qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years in the development sector, with at least 5 years in leading FPO-related programs.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Deep understanding of institution-building processes for farmers' collectives.
    • Expertise in compliances, policies, and funding environments around FPOs.
    • Skills in strategy building, marketing linkages for commodities (cotton, groundnut, pulses, millets), team management, project and financial management, liaison, relationship building, and communications.
