Position Title: Researcher – Digital Media and Gender
Location: Ideosync office, Faridabad, NCR of Delhi, India
Position Term: August 2024 – July 2025

Program Overview:
- Program Name: Free/Dem Media Pathshala
- Focus Area: Training women and young girls in digital competencies and media-making skills, including social media use, creation of audio and video content
- Special Focus: Gender, with a feminist perspective on media and narrative-making
- Activities: Participatory and qualitative research, including data from the Ideosync UNESCO fellowship
Research Focus:
- Subject: Women’s experience of the digital spectrum in urban and peri-urban areas around the National Capital Region
- Methodology: Quantitative and qualitative methods, participatory methods, ethnography, and critical content analysis
Position Responsibilities:
- Literature Review: Undertake comprehensive reviews
- Research Design: Contribute to research framework and methodology
- Tool Design: Participate in the design of research tools
- Fieldwork: Travel to collect qualitative and ethnographic research data
- Data Analysis: Collate and analyze data, and produce detailed research reports
Qualifications:
- Research Training: In gender, digital media, or feminism with strong academic research and writing skills
- Experience: At least one year of experience in research design, data collection, and analysis
- Writing Skills: Proficiency in writing research reports and academic papers in English
- Language Skills: Good Hindi speaking and writing skills for community engagement
- Research Methodology: Understanding of qualitative, participatory, and ethnographic/anthropological methods
- Teamwork: Ability to work as part of a team, problem-solving skills, and creative thinking
- Literature Review Skills: Ability to conduct academic literature reviews, generate citations, and compile bibliographies
Contract and Remuneration:
- Term: One-year contract with a three-month probation period; possibility for extension
- Remuneration: According to Ideosync's salary policy, comparable to national averages for not-for-profits in the development sector
