In celebration of the tenth anniversary of the Protocol of 2014 to the Forced Labour Convention, the Competition aims to award a special prize dedicated to reporting on forced labour and trafficking in persons.
GENEVA (ILO News) – The ILO is launching the tenth edition of its annual Global Media Competition. Its goal is to highlight fair and balanced media reports on labour migration. This is crucial due to the impact that negative and stereotypical public narratives can have in fueling discrimination and abusive practices towards migrant workers.
Awards

Four Professional Prizes:
- Cash Prize: US$1,200
- Special Prize: Dedicated to forced labour and trafficking in persons.

One Student Prize:
- Cash Prize: US$500
- Alternatively, winners can choose a paid fellowship to participate in an online ITC-Turin course on fair recruitment, forced labour, or labour migration in 2025.
