The Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) has introduced the Early Career Research Grant aimed at fostering a culture of research and innovation in India. This initiative seeks to:

- Research Grant Amount: Up to Rs. 60 lakh (plus overheads) for a period of three years.
- Additional Benefits: Flexibility in resource utilization under recurring head, flexibility in manpower recruitment, enhanced travel, contingency, and overhead charges.
- Support for expenses: Coverage for open access publications, patent filing charges, and project-related international travel.
- Number of Grants: Up to 700 grants awarded per year across all subject areas.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Indian citizens; PIO/OCI with regular positions in Indian R&D institutions can apply as PI with an Indian Co-PI.
- Educational Qualification: PhD in Science or Engineering, MD/MS/MDS/MVSc degree.
- Position: Applicant must hold a regular academic or research position in recognized institutions or R&D labs.
- Joining Timeline: Eligible within two years of joining the institution.
- Age Limit: Upper age limit of 42 years (relaxation of three years for SC/ST/OBC/Physically challenged and women candidates).
- Exclusions: Individuals in temporary or renewed contract positions, consultants, and project fellows are ineligible.
