Summary of the Project:
SELCO Foundation's Solutions Portal is a transformative platform designed to address demand-driven, end-user-centric solutions by leveraging sustainable energy. The portal is part of SELCO's broader mission to catalyze holistic, scalable, and replicable solutions tailored to local contexts. The platform currently houses renewable energy-based productive use appliances for stakeholders across various sectors such as Agriculture & Allied, Processing, Manufacturing and Production, Retail and Services, Textiles, and Crafts livelihood activities. It also provides business development tools and resources.


Aim and Objectives:

Aim:
To develop Solutions Portal 2.0, a need-based platform that aims to enable users to adopt clean and distributed energy-driven solutions organically at scale, enhancing productivity and sustainability.

Objective:

  • Undertake research to develop a comprehensive framework for individual profiling of entrepreneurs.
  • Gather inputs for the platform to assist in designing features that inform product design.
  • Improve the user interface by ensuring a user-centric design approach.

Scope of Work:
Organizations and individuals are requested to submit their proposals outlining their methodology and approach for conducting design research for developing the solution portal as a platform. The focus geography will be Karnataka.

Deliverables:

  • Primary Research: Conduct primary research with various consumer segments including end-user communities, NGOs, social enterprises, local government, etc.
  • User Journey Mapping: Comprehensive mapping of different user journeys based on research, outlining the problem statement of end-users to create a scalable program for Decentralized Renewable Energy (DRE) adoption.
  • Recommendations and Prototype Design: Provide recommendations for services and a prototype design outline catering to different user journeys and touchpoints with stakeholders. Suggest a work plan to build the platform.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Expertise in Past Relevant Work:

    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in design research, product/service design, or UI/UX development.
  2. Proven Track Record:

    • Preference for entities with a strong track record in researching and developing strategy for product design, particularly those focused on integrated solutions and socio-economic development through technology.
  3. Team:

    • The proposal must include CVs of key personnel/organizational credentials, past work samples, and detailed costing.
  4. Workplan:

    • Charts showing timelines and dependencies.

Proposal Requirements:

  • Approach and Methodology
  • Workplan
  • Detailed Budget for the deliverables
  • Sample Examples of Past Work and other supporting documents based on the selection criteria

The proposals will undergo an internal review and evaluation. If they align with the requirements and selection criteria, further correspondence will be communicated.


Application Process:

Interested consultants/organizations, with relevant experience (please include samples and/or references of previous similar work as proof of experience) and based out of India, are requested to submit a detailed proposal outlining their methodology and process for this project, including budgets (with break-ups and explanations), timelines, and milestones.
