About the Proposal

RTI is the implementing contractor for USAID's South Asia Regional Energy Partnership (SAREP), a 5-year project to support energy security and economic growth in six South Asian countries. SAREP's objectives include enabling regional energy markets, developing advanced energy systems, improving utilities, and facilitating private sector investment for clean energy.

The RFP is aimed at engaging a consultancy firm for training and capacity building in the ESG domain, specifically for Power Finance Corporation (PFC) and its stakeholders (board of directors, employees, and borrowers).

Scope of Work

The selected firm will provide training programs in the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) domain, including the following responsibilities:

  • Deliver ESG training sessions for PFC's board of directors, borrowers, employees, and departments.
  • Develop training content covering introductory ESG awareness, ESG risk management, ESG data utilization for strategic decision-making, climate risk, and ESG reporting frameworks.
  • Collect feedback from training participants and submit quarterly reports to SAREP.
  • Attend client meetings and incorporate feedback from PFC and USAID into training materials.
  • Ensure training content adheres to USAID branding guidelines.

Training Categories and Details

  1. Category 1: Board of Directors

    • Training Type: 3-hour classroom-based sessions in Delhi.
    • Topics: ESG risk management, global ESG landscape, ESG data for decision making, ESG regulations, climate risks, greenwashing, and sustainability.
    • Number of Trainings: 2 (indicative).
  2. Category 2: Borrowers

    • Training Type: Classroom-based for 100+ participants (with online options).
    • Topics: ESG best practices for the power sector, Scope 1, 2, 3 emissions, environmental due diligence, ESG reporting in loan agreements.
    • Number of Trainings: 2 (indicative).
  3. Category 3: Employees

    • Training Type: Classroom-based interactive sessions for 500 employees (with online options).
    • Topics: ESG fundamentals, corporate ethics, diversity and inclusion, climate change, sustainability targets.
    • Number of Trainings: 2 (indicative).
  4. Category 4: Department Specific

    • Training Type: Focused, classroom-based interactive sessions in Delhi (with online options).
    • Topics: ESG best practices, ESG reporting, function-specific parameters.
    • Number of Trainings: 5, one for each department (HR, Vigilance, IT, Projects, Admin).
