About the Proposal

Habitat for Humanity established the Terwilliger Centre for Innovation in Shelter in 2016, leveraging more than ten years of experience in market-based solutions for housing. The Centre collaborates with various housing market actors to expand innovative and client-responsive services, products, and financing, enabling households to improve their shelter effectively and affordably.

• ShelterTech Platform: A leading platform for affordable housing innovation that connects entrepreneurs, corporations, investors, and development partners to support innovations with the potential to disrupt the affordable housing sector.
• Shelter Venture Fund: A venture capital fund that supports growth-stage startups disrupting the housing market to improve housing affordability and quality.
• Sustainability Focus: Promoting sustainable innovations, models, and enterprises in the housing and construction sector to support "Sustainable Innovation for the Built Environment."

Objectives and Scope of Work

Objective:
The Terwilliger Centre for Innovation in Shelter (TCIS) in India seeks an individual consultant to provide coordination and support services to the Entrepreneurship and Innovation (E&I) India program.

Scope of Work:
The consultant will perform the following activities:

• Partner Coordination: Assist the Entrepreneurship and Innovation lead in coordinating with startups, investors, incubators, accelerators, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Program Management: Provide comprehensive program support by tracking schedules, milestones, reports, and other key details for successful execution.
• Communication and Dissemination: Support the program's communication activities.
• Event Coordination: Coordinate events and meetings (virtual or in-person) as needed, and oversee startup events like hackathons, demo days, and bootcamps.
• Documentation: Ensure appropriate process and learnings documentation, coordinating with internal and external teams.
• Monitoring and Evaluation: Support monitoring and evaluation activities to ensure alignment with program objectives.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Support periodic data capture and analysis, preparing necessary reports.
• Global Team Coordination: Maintain communication and coordination with TCIS global teams as required.

Deliverables

The consultant will provide a monthly status report detailing main activities and accomplishments based on the Entrepreneurship and Innovation India work plan.

Timeframe and Location

• Duration: 12 months (November 2024 – October 2025).
• Location: Chennai, India.

Eligibility Requirements

• Educational Qualification: University degree in any field.
• Experience: At least 5-6 years of relevant experience in startups, project management, or coordination. Experience in startup incubation, acceleration, impact investment, or other entrepreneurship support activities is highly desirable.
• Skills: Strong adaptability, stakeholder management skills, and proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Willingness to Travel: Approximately 30% travel is expected.
