Description of the RFP:
- The project addresses nutritional security challenges in India, with the aim of establishing Standard Nutrition Gardens at the household level in rural communities.
- India ranks 101 out of 116 countries in the Global Hunger Index-2022, with a significant hunger problem despite being a leading producer of fruits and vegetables.
- The Nutrition Garden initiative aims to provide a sustainable source of fresh, naturally grown vegetables to rural households.
Scope of Work:
- Identify marginal families (preferably landless) with space for the Nutrition Garden.
- Enhance awareness and knowledge of beneficiaries regarding nutrition through capacity building and counseling.
- Establish Standard Nutrition Garden Models as per HCLFoundation's criteria.
- Ensure year-round sustainability and productivity of the gardens.
- Promote the use of bio-formulations (e.g., Amrit jal, Neem oil) to avoid chemical supplements.
- Conduct household assessments (pre- and post-intervention) to measure the impact.
- Train volunteer-driven community cadres to support scalability and sustainability.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Not-for-Profit organizations with valid 12A & 80G certificates are preferred.
- Preference given to organizations with prior experience in Uttar Pradesh.
- Must have prior expertise in agriculture, nutrition, and women empowerment.
Proposal Requirements:
- Submit both Technical and Financial proposals by 5th November 2024.
- Adhere to the timelines and Gantt Chart as per Annexure 01.
