Invitation for Expression of Interest (EoI) Overview

The Madhya Pradesh State Skill Development & Employment Generation Board (MPSSDEGB) invites Expression of Interest (EoI) from experienced organizations for Selection of Training Partners to conduct Short-Term Training on Snake Rescue & Rehabilitation.

Scope of Work

Training partners will:

  • Provide training on snake rescue, handling, and rehabilitation.
  • Ensure that only certified snake handlers perform rescue and release operations.
  • Facilitate public awareness on the ecological importance of snakes and snakebite prevention.
  • Train and certify individuals in safe and scientific snake rescue techniques.

Objective of the EoI

  • To create a network of trained and certified snake handlers across Madhya Pradesh.
  • To ensure safe rescue and release of snakes, considering ecological and behavioral factors.
  • To track incidents of snake rescue and release in the state.
  • To prevent illegal practices involving snakes.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following:

  1. 5+ years of experience in snake research and handling.
  2. Established public education centers in Madhya Pradesh for snake awareness.
  3. Prior experience in training programs related to snake rescue and snake bites.
  4. Availability of dedicated training teams and transit facilities for snakes.
  5. Legal permissions from the Forest Department to run the training program.

Target Beneficiaries

  • Snake rescuers, nature enthusiasts, animal rescuers, students interested in herpetology, agriculturalists, and others with a keen interest in wildlife conservation.

Proposal Contents

  1. Course Outline: Details of snake taxonomy, identification methods, rescue techniques, legal considerations, and first-aid procedures.
  2. Training Methodology: Admissions, curriculum, equipment, and assessment details.
  3. Partnership Details: Information on collaborations for mobilization, counseling, and certification.
  4. Experience: Previous training experience and operational models.
  5. Financials: Cost per trainee, including lodging, training, and insurance.

Training Certification

  • Certified snake handlers will be trained according to the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, and certification will be valid for 5 years.
